Don't Miss the Fall Festival!

Mark your calendar: October 2, 4:00-8:00 pm (rain date is October 23). You're all invited! Bring your friends and family to school for one of the most exciting Maggie Walker events of the year: The THIRTEENTH ANNUAL MLWGS FALL FESTIVAL; A GLOBAL CELEBRATION sponsored by our very own PTSA. Please join us for delectable food and treats with an international flair (paella and tapas, asian fare, snow cones, pizza, bratwurst and crepes, and more), spectacular music and entertainment (including the much anticipated return of the Maggie Walker's own Faculty Lounge Lizards), and lots of fun crafts and games (Chess Challenge, DDR, Guitar Hero, the Cake Walk and others) while you mingle with old friends and make new ones! Best of all, you’ll be supporting over 60 clubs and organizations offered at MLWGS!

We can't do it without you! Why not volunteer and make your experience more memorable? Email Cathy Hermes at or call 530-1063 to find out how you can help with the event. It’s a great chance to meet other parents and have fun working together. Volunteers are needed for coordination, setup, drink sales, decorations, and especially take-down / cleanup.
The Fall Festival Committee is also seeking:
  • Experienced Master of Ceremonies / DJ
  • Audio / Sound Technicians
  • Entertainment acts, including: talented musicians and singers, bands, dancers, comedians, and other creative talent!
Talented MLWGS students, faculty, and alumniwe need you! To request or schedule a stage performance, fill out an orange Entertainment Participation Form, found in the new Fall Festival kiosk located in the Bluestone lobby. Forms are due on Thursday, September 17.

Club-Sponsored Tables and Activities: To reserve a table and activity, faculty sponsors should complete and return the Fall Festival Booth Participation Form by Thursday, September 17 to either the Fall Festival Booth Box next to the faculty mailboxes (upstairs) or to the “Completed Forms” slot in the Fall Festival Kiosk in the Bluestone lobby (downstairs). Please note: Clubs may opt to reserve the same activity they used last year or may request a new activity, which is made available on a first come, first served basis. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior class organizations have the right to reserve the activity that the classes ahead of them used last year. The Fall Festival Committee cannot guarantee that clubs will retain past activities if reservation forms are received after September 17!

Loans of generators, coolers, tents and pop-ups needed! The Fall Festival Committee is in need of several generators for this event. Any enclosures or sound baffling to minimize generator noise will also be a great help. Coolers are also needed; please contact Lynn Bivens (contact information below) if you can help.
