The MLWGS Yearbook always features Senior Ads, in which seniors' families and friends create tributes to their favorite graduates. A Senior Ad is a wonderful way to tell seniors how proud you are of them, give them a special wish for the future, congratulate them on surviving the Governor's School, encourage them in their future pursuits, and forever embarrass them beyond belief with compromising pictures from childhood. In short, a Senior Ad shows your love and support of your favorite graduate for posterity and serves as a permanent reminder of a special time.
Yearbook pages measure 8-1/2" by 11" and ads may be purchased to cover a full page ($220), half page ($140), quarter page ($80), or eighth page ($45). Please make checks payable to MLWGS.
To purchase a Senior Ad, please send the picture(s) you want printed (prints may be sent loose or already laid out on a sheet of paper; digital files must be jpeg), along with any text you would like to include, to the attention of Mike White, Yearbook Advisor. In addition, we must ask that you refrain from compiling and submitting your own digital photo collages; these huge files require our staff to spend an inordinate amount of time rendering the ads suitable for online submission with our publisher, and the result is typically a comparatively low visual quality.
Be sure to indicate the size you prefer the ad to be, your name, the name of the senior being honored, and your address and phone number or email. Submissions may be mailed (MLWGS, 1000 N. Lombardy Street, Richmond, VA, 23220, Attention: Mike White) or dropped off. When choosing pictures for the ad, please note that the 2009-10 yearbook will once again be all-color.
We’ll assume that you want the ad to be a surprise, and we’ll send you the receipt directly instead of giving it to the student to take home. Original photos will be returned after the books are distributed in early June.
Because ad space is limited, submissions are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with the final deadline for submissions on Monday, January 11, 2010. Even ads meeting the deadline may be denied if previous submissions have already filled the allotted space; the Senior Ads section always fills up quickly, so don't delay! Questions?
