Attention Parents of Seniors!

The Mid-January edition of the Senior Newsletter was distributed to seniors last week through English classes and is now available online: http://www.gsgis.k12.va.us/ourdepartments/newguidancesite/Newsletters/0910/MidJanuary2010Newsletter.pdf

Students are encouraged to continue researching and applying for scholarships. It is also a critical time for the financial aid process, as it is now the best time to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA, http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/). Paula Powell from the GReat Aspiration Scholarship Program (GRASP) is available on Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to answer parents’ individual questions about this complex process. To set up an appointment, contact your child’s senior counselor or Zona Hicks, School Counseling Administrative Assistant, at 354-6800 x3213.  Families are encouraged to complete the FAFSA form by February 1st (priority filing dates my vary by college).
