Night of the Dragon: "March Madness" March 6, 2010

 Invitations are on the way!

The invitations to the auction have been bulk mailed so look for them the end of this week or early next week in your mailbox.  The committee is really excited about this year's auction.  We are working really hard and are looking for a few good volunteers.  We will also be advertising for volunteers to work the night of the event selling drink tickets, raffle tickets etc.  Look for more information in upcoming weeks.  But for now we really need a few key people to fill these critical positions.
  • catalog writers (we need a few)  This job can be done at home and it is only for a critical crunch time between February 6-13th.  Most of the catalog is written already so you would be reviewing, rewriting, tweaking and proofreading some of the descriptions that already exist.
  • catalog designer/illustrator (online catalog) - basic website and image editing skills are a big plus for this task.   This is also especially needed as our online catalog  editor/illustrator, Roxanne Sawchak, is a parent of a senior, and we would like to have someone shadow her this year.
  • baggers  Karen Akens "an alumni parent" has offered to help with Item Assembly and Delivery or as we call them "the baggers"  They are the back room people who make sure all the correct items get bagged together and go to the correct bidder number. We would love to have a parent or two help and shadow Karen this year.
Thank you to all who have donated to the auction this year.  We have a wonderful assortment of items in all price points to entice many buyers. Look for the on-line catalog in Smoke and Scales 2 weeks before the auction.  We are creating our own "March Madness" at Maggie Walker.  The committee would like to thank "Bizport" for their donation of  the printing of the invitations and catalogs for the auction this year. They look great!  Please plan on being a part of the 8th annual Night of the Dragon.
