We are looking forward to getting to know each of you as you start your college planning process. Over the next few months you will need to register for the SAT, complete the 11th grade portions of "My Checklist" in Naviance, attend Junior College Kickoff, and sign up to meet with your Senior Counselor.
When you access Naviance, you may notice it looks different. The latest release includes improvements to make using Family Connection more appealing and user friendly.
Prior to meeting with your counselor you will need to complete a few assignments as listed in "My Checklist" (under the "About Me" tab) in Naviance. Go to http://connection.naviance.com/mlwgs and log in. The first tab at the top "Colleges" will allow you complete a college search tool. The second tab "Careers" gives you access to a Personality Inventory and a Career Interest Profile. Lastly, the third tab "About Me" gives you access to the "Game Plan Survey" that you need to complete. We would like you to complete all of these but at a minimum the Game Plan Survey and the College Search tool prior to your first meeting with your senior counselor.
As a reminder, College Kickoff will held in the auditorium on March 1st from 12:45 to 3:10 p.m. Junior attendance is required and parents are encouraged to join us.
Lastly, we have posted sign up sheets in the School Counseling Office so you can pick a date and time that suits your schedule. Meetings are to be held during your study hall or lunch only. Though we have scheduled meetings to begin in March, if you would like to meet with your counselor prior to then we would be happy to make special arrangements to meet with you during the month of February.
Please note: Senior Counselor caseloads are: Ms. Deck (A-Ma) and Ms. Loving (Mac-Z)
