MLWGS alum and William and Mary freshman Danny Yates was in Haiti during last month’s tragic earthquake. Now back in Virginia, Danny will share his story and thoughts at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, March 10 in the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School Forum. (There will be a preview at 11:40-12:10 at the same place and date).
Come hear what it was like to walk through the hardest hit sections of Port-au-Prince just three days after the 7.0 quake devastated the island nation of Haiti, already the poorest country in the western hemisphere. Learn about Haitian culture through an audio-visual presentation and a question and answer session.
Additionally, Danny will share ways that the Richmond community can best help with relief efforts which are directly and daily benefiting displaced and injured quake victims.
