Summer Programs Update

The VCU School of Dentistry is offering the Dental Career Exploration Summer Program for sophomores, juniors and seniors. This program will run from June 22 through July 2. Students participating in this program will receive clinical exposure to dentistry, hands-on dental experience, and listen to presentations on current dental topics. Interested students are encouraged to submit an application in order to be considered for participation in the program. Preference is given to those of a disadvantaged (educational, social or economic) background. Please visit http://www.dhsd.vcu.edu or see Ms. Davis to apply for this program. The application deadline is Friday, April 30.

The University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science is sponsoring the 2010 Introduction to Engineering Program. This program is for rising seniors interested in engineering, math, science, and technology. The Richmond Area Program for Minorities in Engineering (RAPME) is presenting the 2010 Summer Engineering Institute. The RAPME Summer Engineering Institute is a 3- or 5-week academic program for high school minority students in the Richmond/Petersburg metropolitan area. The program provides students with information about various fields of engineering and the requirements for pursuing a career in engineering. Applications can be found at www.rapme.org and are due on by Friday, April 23.
