Science Fair Winners

Saumil Bandyopadhyay ’13 won “1st Place Overall” for his chemistry project entered in the Metro Richmond Science Fair (MRSF) held at Powhatan High School on March 27. As the top winner in the fair, Saumil will represent the Metro competition at the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), held this year in San Jose California, May 9–14.

William Thomason ’12 won “1st in Category” for his computer science project, and he will be an alternate to the ISEF.

Five other MLWGS students won awards at the MRSF: Om Evani ’12 (biochemistry—1st in category); Jon Hittel ’12 (physics—2nd in category); Kathryn Marqueen ’12 (medicine & health—2nd in category); Eileen Wang ’12 (microbiology—3rd in category); and Scott Yeudall (physics—honorable mention).
