In April, the Spanish Club and the National Spanish Honor Society will hold a book drive for the Biblioteca Comunitaria TZ’UNUN YA’, a fledgling library in Tzununá, Guatemala. The mission of the library is to promote reading, curiosity and investigation while providing a free service within the community. In addition to encouraging reading and literacy, this library acts as a cultural center for the preservation of the indigenous traditions. The library depends entirely on donations and volunteer efforts for its continued service to the people of Tzununa. We are asking for the support of the Maggie Walker community. A small contribution on your part can make an enormous difference in the lives of the Guatemalan children. You can contribute in one of three ways:
1) purchase a book off the Tzununa wishlist at http://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/registry.html?ie=UTF8&type=wishlist&id=1NIRHI8W490CD
2) buy a book at a local store and turn it into Mrs. Welles or Ms. Thornton by May 5
3) submit a cash donation (make checks payable to Maggie Walker Spanish Club), and we will purchase the books for you
