Kindles at the MLWGS Library!

Exciting news!  Thanks to funding from Friends of the Library and technical advice from University of Richmond’s emerging technologies librarian, the MW Library is in the preparation phase of launching a Kindle eBook program.  Last week, the pilot program received approval from the administrative team and helpful feedback from the English department, the school’s Advisory Council, and the newly formed Library Committee.

With an anticipated launch near the beginning of the second nine weeks, this program will start with five Kindles available for a two-week checkout period, with student book groups receiving priority.  To propose a Kindle eBook reading group, complete the middle portion of the Kindle Use form attached to the bottom of the Reading Nook page and submit it to Ms. DeGroat.  All students and teachers who wish to check out a Kindle must complete the top and bottom sections of the Kindle Use form prior to checking out a Kindle for the first time.

For more information about the Kindle program, watch the Reading Nook page of  the MW Library Research Commons, listen for morning announcements, and look for more articles in Smoke and Scales.
