You have probably already read about the Picasso Exhibit that is currently at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see 176 works from the private collection of one of the major cultural figures of the 21st century without leaving Richmond.
Because it is such an important event, the Spanish and French teachers have made reservations to take our students to see the exhibit on April 15, the day before the beginning of Spring Break.
This is an amazing opportunity but it is not free. Student tickets are $16 and will be sold during lunch at Maggie Walker during the week of March 14-17. There is, however, a less expensive option: Student Museum membership costs only $10 and entitles the student to attend the exhibit free of charge. If you would like to take advantage of this option, just call the museum at 340-1520 or drop by the membership desk at the museum. All we will need is your student’s museum membership number when we submit the paperwork for the tickets. As always, any student who would be prevented from attending because of financial need contact a school counselor.
We will be in need of parent-chaperones for this event. Any parents who could help are asked to contact Barrett Brown at email@example.com, or 354-6800 ext. 2364.
