Foundation Annual Fund Campaign

Did you know that part of the Foundation’s mission is to keep alumni connected to the school? Recently, Joey Accordino ’07, a broadcast major at Elon University and a College Emmy Award winner, came back to Maggie Walker to mentor Emlyn Crenshaw ’11, reporter for Jabberwock TV.

Our alumni support the school in many ways, including giving to the Annual Fund Campaign. Last year, 33% of our alumni donated to the campaign, an impressive figure, especially considering that our oldest alumni are only 35 years old.

So far this year, the Annual Fund Campaign has raised $163,703 for the school, which is 82% of our $200,000 goal. Overall current parent participation is 61%, and here is the parent participation by class:

Senior parents: 60%
Junior parents: 66%
Sophomore parents: 63%
Freshmen parents: 58%

The Governor’s School Foundation’s Annual Fund Campaign supports programs for students, grants for teacher continuing education, and special projects for facilities and equipment. If you have not yet donated, you may do so online at
