Boys and Girls Soccer Players Earn District Honors

Individual Recognition Reflective of Each Team's Success on the Field of Play

As the 2011 high school soccer regular season comes to a close, a number of student athletes from both the Maggie Walker boys and girls soccer teams are being recognized for their contributions to each team's success.  Over the weekend the district coaches made the selections for the Colonial District all conference teams.

On the boys side, seniors Dan Laws and Sam Meredith were joined by junior Luke Herrmann in making 1st team. While on the girls side, junior Alex Pinkelton was named to the first team while also finishing as the runner up in the District's Player of the Year award.

Second team All-District players included Daniel Wagner and Nic Ridderhof on the boys side, while second team honors on the girls side included Liz Napps, Cassie Turnage, and Cheta Emba.

For Honorable Mention All-District, Fisher Guthrie and David Shore on the boys side were joined by Kayla Smeltzer, Katy Vollum, Alex Bailey, and Maeve Healy on the girls side.

Congratulations to all the recognized individuals, the coaches and teams for their achievements, and representing the school in setting an outstanding example for all student athletes.
