Bring your family to school for one of the most exciting Maggie Walker events of the year: The Fifteenth Annual MLWGS FALL FESTIVAL:A Global Celebration sponsored by our PTSA.
                                   
You are cordially invited for delectable food and treats with an international flair, spectacular music, entertainment, and lots of fun games and crafts while you mingle with old friends and make new ones! Best of all, you’ll be supporting over 50 student clubs and organizations offered at MLWGS!

Calling All Fall Festival Volunteers - We Need You!
Why not make your 2011 Fall Festival experience more memorable? Get involved! Contact Jo Anne Kaperick at mwgffvolunteers@aol.com or 323-7448 to find out how you can help with the event. Volunteers are needed for coordination, setup, drink sales, decorations, and cleanup. Don’t forget, we always need volunteers who like to wear tool belts, love to work with power tools, and know how to use them. See below for more information ...

Set Up: We are looking for those handy men and women who know how to use power tools. If you fit this description, come out on Friday morning, September 30, to help build the stage for the Fall Festival. Set up is from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on September 30. We also need volunteers to move heavy objects (generators, full coolers, etc.) and set up tables, chairs, etc. for the club booths.

Drink Sales/Festival Support: We need more than 20 people throughout the event to support drink sales and assist in other festival support roles. Shifts are available in   1 1/2 hour time slots from 3:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Take-down: Strong guys are needed to dismantle the stage. You get to use power tools again! Volunteers will also be needed to move tables, take down tents, and generally clean up the area. Take-down will be from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity for kids to get volunteer hours!

Money Counters: Twelve people are needed to count money from booth sales. Hours for this important job will be from 7:30 until about 10:00 p.m.

Security: Men are needed to monitor the cafeteria from 3:30-6:00 p.m. and from 6:00-8:30 p.m. Security will also be needed around the stage from 6:00-9:30 p.m.

Equipment Needed for Fall Festival
The Fall Festival Committee still is in need of the following items to borrow for the day of  the festival, Friday, September 30:
  • 15 large rolling coolers to hold drinks for sale at the Festival (capacity: 30 or more cans)
  • 1 golf cart or any small quiet vehicle that can transport large, heavy items
  • canopies / pop-up tents
  • 4 generators with carts
  • heavy-duty outdoor extension cords, electrical splitters & strips
  • free-standing outdoor lights
  • hand trucks

Fall Festival Seeks Booth Sponsors and Entertainment Acts 

Be part of the fun!
Sign up no later than Friday, September 16 to participate as follows:

1) Sponsor a booth (you must be an official MLWGS-administration-approved club or organization and have a faculty sponsor)   
    
2) Perform on the Fall Festival stage (open to students, faculty, even alum!).

Club-Sponsored Booth Tables and Activities: Student organizations may sponsor booth tables featuring fun and interesting activities or delicious food.
To reserve a table and activity, faculty sponsors must complete and return the Fall Festival Boooth Participation Form by noon Friday, September 16.

You can download the booth participation form using the Fall Festival Facebook event page (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=260918160586778), or pick one up from the Fall Festival kiosk in the Bluestone lobby.

Please return signed and completed booth participation form to 1) the “Completed Forms” slot in the Bluestone lobby kiosk, or,  2) in the Fall Festival Box next to the faculty mailboxes, or, 3) you can email those faculty signed forms to Susan Akers at 04akers@comcast.net.
