Freshman Receives Leadership Award for Heroism

Noah Han ('15) was presented the 2011 Timothy Price Leadership Award by the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office during their Annual Awards and Recognition Celebration in early November. This honor is "awarded to a citizen who has displayed gallantry or personal bravery at the risk of their own life", and is given in honor of Timothy Price, who lost his life while protecting his soldiers during combat in Iraq.

In May, Noah rescued two drowning men who had capsized their canoe at dark.  They had no life vests and were unable to swim. Noah canoed out to them, and dove in to secure flotation devices and then life vests.  He assisted them into his boat and brought them to safety, just prior to the arrival of emergency crews.  All are thankful for Noah's bravery, as well as his extensive boating and swimming experience.

In addition, Noah was honored to be the recipient of the Lifesaver Award (given to a citizen who saves a life outside of the line of duty) by the Woodmen of the World Organization, an organization committed to family, community, and country.
