Night of the Dragon: Lots of Great Items Already Donated, More to Come!

Would you like to bid on a 26" Mountain Bike?  How about a weekend at the beach in Avon, NC?  Private golf lessons?  A week at Wintergreen?  Unique MLWGS merchandise?  Then mark your calendar for March 3, 2012 and plan to attend the 10th annual Night of the Dragon Auction!

In addition to the above items and many other generous donations from MLWGS parents and area merchants, we need more to offer at our Silent and  Live Auction.

Consider these options:
  • Auction Items: Check out the upcoming sales at your favorite store and purchase an item to donate. Chances are if you love it, so will someone else and want to bid on it.
  • Unique Experiences: Anything that can't normally be bought is usually very popular with bidders - for example, a guided tour of a favorite museum or area attraction; a moonlight cruise on your boat; wine tasting with a favorite sommelier; airline miles; or a dinner cooked by you or a group of friends and/or hosted at a unique location.
  • Lessons: If you are proficient at a skill then offer to teach it to someone else! This could include knitting, golf, cooking, tennis, music, a craft, or writing.
  • Trips or Vacation Homes: If you own a vacation home, consider auctioning it off for a weekend or a week at your discretion.
  • Corporate Gifts and Donations: Sponsor the auctioneer, the lighting, floral decorations, heads and tails item, or the appetizers or beverages. Any major line item on our auction list can be sponsored, and we will be happy to feature your company in our program with promotional ads as our way of saying thank you!
  • Cash donations to offset costs: Just send in a check made out to the Governor's School Foundation with "auction" in the memo line - any amount helps!
The items you can donate are endless, and the wide variety of items each year is what makes our auction so popular! Please fill out a donation form  and return it to school in an envelope marked "auction" or get it to one of the booster reps who is collecting items for the auction.  Don't delay - January 10th is the donation deadline!
