As the holidays are approaching, and stores are having sales, now is the time to think "auction donations." Be sure to ask those merchants you frequent if they would like to make a donation to our 2012 Night of the Dragon Auction. This silent and live auction is the biggest fund raiser for the booster groups for the entire year.
The 10th annual Night of the Dragon Auction will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2012. To make this the most successful event ever, we are asking each family at MLWGS to contribute something to the auction. There are multiple ways for you to donate–either with a check made out to the Governor's School Foundation with “auction” in the memo, securing a donation from a merchant, or donating a product or service yourself.
Last year over $70,000 was raised from the auction. With the help of each of the wonderful and generous Maggie Walker families, we can meet and exceed last year's goal! All proceeds from the auction items come directly back to the school and benefit the students.
The deadline for auction donations is January 10, but don't wait until the last minute - we will take your items now! To donate, please fill out a donation form and return it to the school in an envelope marked "Auction" or give it to one of the booster representatives listed below. Each donation can be designated to benefit one or multiple booster groups - just check the appropriate box(es) when you fill out the donation form.
