Technology Students Win Top Awards at Regional Conference

Congratulations to the following students for their success at the South Central Regional Conference of the Technology Student Association (TSA) held on March 3rd.

Eison DeGuzman('13) – 2nd place “Essays on Technology
Helena Barth('13) – 2nd place “Photographic Technology
Lana Parsons(13), Anousheh Bakhti-Suroosh, Michael Lewis('13) and Julia Kuno('13)  - 1st place “Digital Video Production
Adam Ernst('13), Alia Prasad('13) and Matthew Ruskan('13) – 3rd place “Music Production”

These individuals are now eligible to compete in the same events at the TSA State Leadership Conference being held at the Richmond Convention Center, May 4 – 6. Over 3,000 high school and middle school TSA members from throughout the State of Virginia are expected to attend. First, second, and third place finishers at the State conference advance to the National TSA Conference June 21 - June 25 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort Nashville, Tennessee.

The TSA offers high school students leadership opportunities at the chapter, regional, state and national levels, cash scholarships and the opportunity to compete in over 33 different events such as VEX Robotics, Debating Technological Issues, Extemporaneous Presentation, Engineering Design, System Control Technology and CAD Architecture and Engineering. For more information and news about the TSA, visit the National TSA website at or the Virginia TSA website at
