On May 3, Samantha Marquez ('14) was inducted into the VCU chapter of the Sigma Xi society. Invited to join the society at age 15, Marquez is Sigma Xi's youngest member in the U.S.
Marquez has published five scientific papers and obtained six patents. Samantha's research collaborations with Texas A&M, Arizona State University and Harvard have been presented in the US, Spain, China, and other countries.
Sigma Xi is a highly prestigious scientific research honor society founded in 1886 at Cornell University. The Society comprises nearly 60,000 scientists and engineers around the world and has included Nobel prize winners among its members.
