One hundred seventy-seven seniors from the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School for Government and International Studies will be graduating on June 15 at 3:00 pm at Richmond CenterStage. Dr. Edward L. Ayers, President of the University of Richmond, will be speaking.
The Class of 2012 has completed 38,808 hours of community service and received over eight and a half million dollars in scholarships. Three seniors are Presidential Scholars, and twenty-eight are National Merit Semi-Finalists.
“It’s been a whirlwind year,” said Penny Deck, a college counselor at Maggie Walker. “They’re an incredibly successful group of students who are excited about starting this next part of their lives.”
The Maggie Walker seniors will be attending 51 different colleges in the fall, including MIT, University of Virginia, Yale University, College of William and Mary, Duke University, Princeton University, Brown University, University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown University.
