Science Students Win Additional Awards

In addition to the category prizes won by Saumil Bandyopadhyay ('13) and Samantha Marquez ('14) at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair, both won special awards from research organizations.

Bandyopadhyay won an all-expense paid trip to Geneva, Switzerland to spend a week at the European Union for Nuclear Research (CERN) with 11 other students from across the globe. He also won the first prize of $2500 from SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics.

Marquez won the third prize of $1,000 from the Anti-Vivisection Society dedicated to biomedical research without harming animals.
