Junior Presents Seminar in Beijing

Samantha Marquez in Shanghai
Samantha Marquez ('14) was invited by Beijing University and Tongji University to present a seminar in Shanghai, China on July 9-13. Her lecture was titled “From Microtissues to Celloidosomes®: A New Frontier in Biomedical Engineering.” During the summer, Samantha also co-authored two journal articles; one in the Journal Biomicrofluidics, in collaboration with scientists from Texas A&M; and the second one accepted for The Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics (in press) in collaboration with scientists from Georgia Institute of Technology.

Samantha also spent part of her summer in Mexico as part of her community service for the Christian International Foundation and African Health Agricultural Foundation on the Cassava: Health-Environmental Project for Latino-American, Caribbean, and African countries.
