16th Fall Festival Raises Record Funds

The 16th MLWGS Fall Festival was a tremendous success! In perfect weather, more than 2,500 people enjoyed the 25+ performing groups and booths from 60 student clubs. This year's Festival generated more than $17,500, a record amount for MLWGS student organizations.

Congratulations to the Appalachian Heritage Music Club, whose live chicken helped capture the Most Creative Booth award. The Key Club won the Best Decorated Booth award for its carnival theme. And the Class of 2015 won the Shout-Out Award for their great school spirit.

Many thanks to sponsors Sauer’s and Siewers Lumber & Millwork for making cash donations, which enable more funds from the evening to go directly into organizations’ coffers. Container First Services again graciously provided receptacles for trash. Sunbelt Rentals and Lowe’s of Short Pump offered merchandise discounts. Please patronize these businesses and thank them for their support!
The PTSA would like to thank the many volunteers that worked that day and night to make Fall Festival happen:

The committee will hold a planning meeting in April to get the ball rolling for Fall Festival 2013. For more information or to volunteer please contact Kristen Vithoulkas (vithpk@gmail.com) or Susan Akers (04akers@comcast.net ), who have offered to serve as co-chairs for next year.
