Ryan Oppenheimer ('14), Lily Hargis ('14)  and Camille Brenke ('13) were selected for their bilingual abilities to perform in the Nov. 3 production of El Retablo de las Maravillas (The Marvelous Pageant) by Spanish novelist, poet and playwright Miguel de Cervantes. The work was presented by the Henley Street Theater company as part of a day-long celebration of Hispanic Language and Performing Arts.

Cervantes, author of Don Quixote, was a contemporary of Shakespeare and wrote in classical Castillian Spanish. The play was presented in both its original Spanish and English, and required actors who are skilled in both languages.
