Summer Program Information and Deadlines

Summer Residential Governor’s Schools applications are now available.  These programs are run by the Commonwealth to provide opportunities for gifted high school students to explore professional and university environments through mentorships and academic enrichment. Information and applications can be found here for academic, mentorship programs and visual and performing arts and here for the foreign language academies. Students interested in the foreign language academies or in the visual and performance arts programs should speak directly to their language or fine arts teacher ASAP. Telluride Association Summer Program is a free opportunity for bright, motivated high school juniors (rising seniors) to participate in a challenging six-week college-level summer seminar and live in a diverse, reflective, self-governing intellectual community with similarly motivated peers. This is a free program, but students will pay costs for transportaton to Cornell University or University of Michigan. Students must express interest to Ms. Davis by Monday, Nov. 26 to start the application process.

High School Diplomats is a ten-day cultural exchange program between Japanese and American students. It is a full-scholarship program that gives 40 American sophomore and junior high school students the chance to build relationships with people from another country and learn another culture firsthand. HSD opens students' eyes to a whole new perspective on the world, while also helping them learn more about themselves. Knowledge of the Japanese language is not required! Visit the website to apply. Dental Career Exploration Program is offered to 10th, 11th and 12th grade students who are interested in exploring a career in dentistry. Through hands-on workshops, students will develop skills such as reading comprehension through book discussions and public speaking through practice debates, as well as effective study skills.
