Global Citizens Corps is looking for MLWGS students with stories to tell about their volunteer experiences in other countries. The club is planning two lunch-time forums featuring examples of how students can combine international travel and community service. The first will feature current students making 5-7 minute presentations about their experiences; the second will feature local representatives of non-profit organizations that help communities by improving access to clean water, good health care, education, and nutritional food.
Anyone who would like to recommend a student who has a compelling story to tell should contact club officer Daisy Banta (Henrico ’14) at firstname.lastname@example.org. Suggestions of local, NPO representatives are also welcome. The student forum is scheduled for Mar. 14 in the Forum. The entire school community is invited to attend.
Global Citizens Corps is a student organization that raises awareness about the main causes of global poverty and supports organizations that make real contributions to helping impoverished communities return to self-sufficiency.
