Junior Wins Science Challenge

Samantha Marquez (Chesterfield '14) was selected as one of the two Virginia finalists and winners of the 2013 Virginia BioGENEius Challenge co-sponsored by the Virginia Biotechnology Association, ATCC, and the Virginia Bioscience Foundation.

The BioGENEius Challenge is a premier academic and research competition that provides high school students the opportunity to compete and be recognized for outstanding research in biotechnology.

The Virginia Biotechnology Association covers all travel expenses for each winner to Chicago, IL, in order to participate in the U.S. National BioGENEius Challenge, which takes place in April 2013. The top ten US finalists will showcase their research at the BIO International Convention to over 15,000 convention attendees in Washington, DC.
