The Science and Global Studies departments are pleased to announce an international/interdisciplinary trip to Belize during Spring Break 2014. MLWGS has chosen to offer this opportunity because of Belize’s unique history, and robust ecological diversity. While in Belize students will travel by boat to visit Mayan ruins, take a jungle hike, experience a canopy tour of the rain forest, view wildlife from a boat, visit a nature center, walk through a Howler Monkey sanctuary, and snorkel in a barrier reef and at Shark Ray alley. Of course, they will also have some free time to experience local culture. The tour will be organized through an accredited international travel company with over 45 years of experience in 50 countries. The tour organizer will provide transportation, accommodations, food, insurance, and an experienced tour guide. The tentative cost of the trip is $2,680 plus $70 for tips.
There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, May 21 at 5:30pm, in room 153, to provide more details and answer questions about the trip. Please contact Mr. David Barnes at firstname.lastname@example.org or 354-6800, ext. 3060 for more information or visit http://www.eftours.com/1382014XP.
