Math Teacher is Featured Speaker

Math teacher Lynn Reed at the South Pole
The PTSA will host MLWGS teacher Lynn Reed at its final meeting of the year. Reed will speak about her sabbatical working in Greenland and Antarctica. The meeting is on May 28 at 6:30pm in the auditorium.

Lynn Foshee Reed is a 2012-14 Albert Einstein Distinguishe
d Educator Fellow working in Polar Programs at the National Science Foundation. Reed will be presenting information on her work with the Joint Science Education Program in Greenland as well as her trip in December to McMurdo and South Pole Stations in Antarctica.  

As a mathematics teacher, Lynn is using these experiences to look for the intersection of mathematics and polar science to use in the classroom. During the lecture she will also share general information about the Einstein Fellowship.
