Senior Is Featured Speaker at STEM Expo

Saumil Bandyopadhyay (Henrico '13) will be the featured speaker (VIP speaker of the day) at the Department of Defense-organized eCYBERMISSION National Judging and Educational event on June 18 at Leesburg, VA. 

This event is organized by the Army Educational Outreach Program that manages the eCYBERMISSION competition and the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium for high school students. Bandyopadhyay will be presenting a 45-minute talk to young STEM students competing in the event, describing his research on quantum engineered photodetectors for Army missions and his experience with scientific research as a high school student. He will also be talking about his more recent research on quantum computing. 

The event consists of a STEM Tech Expo where Army laboratories from Research and Development Engineering Command and Medical Command will be providing interactive demonstrations to expose STEM students to Army science and technology.
