Sophomore Named Peace Prize Finalist

Reshini Premaratne (Henrico, '16) was recently named a finalist for the Peace First Prize. Five Peace First Prize winners will each receive a $50,000 Peace First Fellowship over two years to continue their peacemaking work. Through mentoring and coaching, this fellowship is an investment in the ability of young people to expand and improve their projects in the community.

The winners will  be announced in October. Peace First is holding a smaller contest concurrently to provide another opportunity for these young people to spread the word about their work. Between Aug 12 and Sept 16, the finalist that receives the most tweets, google +1's, or Facebook recommendations on his or her profile will be featured on the USA Network Character's Unite website.
