Foundation Supports DC Visit

The Annual Fund Campaign supports educational trips, such as the annual sophomore class trip to Washington, D.C. MLWGS students met with U.S. House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, U.S. Senator Tim Kaine, and U.S. Senate Historian Donald Ritchie. They had tours of the Capitol, the Library of Congress, and the Supreme Court. They also visited the Newseum, where they met with First Amendment scholar Charles C. Haynes.

So far this year, the Annual Fund Campaign has raised $152,047 for the school, which is 51% of its $300,000 goal. Overall current parent participation is 30%, and here is the parent participation by class:

• Seniors:  41%
• Juniors:  37%
• Sophomores:  33%
• Freshmen:  17%
