Recently a request went out to our community for support of a family in holiday need. The family our school adopted is unknown to us but is home to quadruplets (four fifth-grade boys). The request was met with an unprecedented measure of generosity and even included gifts for the mother of the children!
Ms. Rainey, Ms. Welles, Ms. Sheppard, and Ms. Shore all enjoyed helping with this effort, as did a group of our student ambassadors including Maddie Coder (Richmond '15), Mark Fleckenstein (Richmond '14), Laura Fuhr (Goochland '15), Ana Murias (Richmond '16), Libby Ebeling (Richmond '11), and Christopher Soldan (Henrico '11) who proved to be up to the challenge of wrapping almost 80 gifts (only some of which are pictured)! Not to be overlooked, Ms. Williams took a special interest in coordinating and organizing the gifts and making sure that each included a personal gift tag.
While we are sure that the family will have a special holiday, this effort has been special for our school community as well. The spirit of giving is alive at MLWGS. Go Dragons!
