Join the Richmond Youth Peace Project in commemorating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with its ninth annual Youth Educoncert, Generation Dream 2014.
Two Richmond shows are scheduled this year: The first will be held Friday, Feb. 7, 7:00pm at. at the Richmond Public Library’s downtown branch, 101 E Franklin St. This show is being presented as part of First Fridays Artwalk. The second will be held at Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School, 1000 N Lombardy St. Sunday, Feb. 9, from 3:00-5:30pm, co-sponsored by the school. Both performances are free and open to the public.
Generation Dream 2014 features talented youth performers from throughout the Richmond metropolitan area. This year’s show features MLWGS pianist Pranay Vissa (Henrico '15), poet Suzanna Woods (Henrico '15) and singer/pianist Tara Srivastava (Chesterfield '15). Performances will also include singers, dancers, instrumental musicians and spoken word artists from Appomattox Regional Governor’s School, Open High School, John Marshall High School and several other central Virginia high schools, as well as the VCU school of music and John B. Cary Elementary School.
