The College Board has recently introduced the Advanced Placement International Diploma. Students who earn the diploma will have a credential that is highly valued by an array of universities. The diploma is not intended to supplant, but rather to supplement qualified students’ school diplomas. Interested students must obtain a minimum score on a specific combination of at least five AP exams. This credential does not require any modification to MLWGS instructional programming as we already offer relevant courses, thus; it only serves as an opportunity for interested students. More information will be forthcoming in August 2014.
In addition, Ms. Deck has recently provided information to students regarding the Council of International Schools (CIS) Registry. As a member of CIS, MLWGS may invite students who are interested in receiving free admission information from CIS member colleges and universities to participate in the CIS International Student Registry. The Higher Education members of CIS are actively seeking students who wish to pursue international education. This service is a unique, no cost opportunity for students to hear from CIS member colleges and universities in Asia, Australia, Canada, Europe, the Middle East, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Registering will help students learn about colleges/universities that may be appropriate choices for their international post-secondary education. Please see counselors for more information.
