Junior Class Trip Chaperones Needed

Calling all students, alumni, and parents to GO APE!

The Junior Class (2015) needs 18 parents, guardians, siblings, MLWGS staff, or alumni age 18 years and older to chaperone their class trip to Go Ape Zip Line & Tree Top Adventure on Saturday, May 31. Buses leave MLWGS at 9:00am and return 7:30pm, rain or shine.

Join the Junior class for a day of zip lines and obstacles at Go Ape! Freedom Park in Williamsburg. Transportation, zip-line, and dinner are provided for a discounted chaperone price of $35 (chaperones will need to bring a bag lunch). Due to the generosity of several Junior class parents who are disinclined to zip, any MLWGS staff member can chaperone for free.

Go Ape’s first treetop adventure course in Virginia is just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg in Freedom Park. Rich in historical significance, the site includes an 18th century cemetery, the Revolutionary War Battle of Spencer’s Ordinary and recreated cabins showing on the nation’s earliest Free Black Settlements in America. The park also features two miles of hiking trails and more than 20 miles of some of the best mountain biking trails in the region.

Cost is $35 for chaperones, free for MLWGS staff. Checks made payable to the MLWGS Class of 2015, sent to Hal Waller, MLWGS, 1000 N. Lombardy St., Rm 225, Richmond, VA, 23220.

Please Contact Elizabeth Wong at (804) 270-3804 or mew.mailbox@gmail.com to chaperone or for more information.
