The Maggie Walker Forensics Team took a record six participants to the Catholic Forensic League's Grand National Tournament on May 24-25.
In Forensics, Naomi Vickers (Richmond '17) advanced to the first Championship round in Oral Interpretation. while Elizabeth Ratliffe (Henrico '15) advanced to the Semi-finals in Dramatic Performance. Christopher Benos (Chesterfield '14), Michael Benos (Chesterfield '16), Elizabeth Benos (Chesterfield '17) and Andrew Leffler (Henrico '15) also performed well. The team had the best performance in school history, finishing 10th overall.
For the Debate Team Reshini Premaratne (Henrico '16) and Taylor Flynn (Henrico '14) represented the team in Lincoln-Douglas Debate while Leon Zhan (Henrico '14) and Yash Tekriwal (Henrico '14) represented in Public Forum Debate. Premaratne , Zhan and Tekriwal went 3-2, and narrowly missed qualifying for the championship rounds (only the top 32 debaters advance to the championship round).
