The Governor's School Foundation has finished this year's Annual Fund Campaign with a record breaking year, raising over $390,000 for the school.
The Board of the Foundation recognizes that surpassing its fund-raising goal is due to the extraordinary efforts of its staff and volunteers. Specifically, the work of Chief Development Officer, Hal Waller, who established a program that engages not only donors, but also the school faculty, administration, parents, students and community. Waller's efforts have resulted in the school being a recognized regional treasure. His connections with alumni have resulted in one of the highest alumni participation percentages for any public or private school in our state. Without his vision and execution, the Foundation would not be in position to provide for the school's students and faculty as it has for the last six years under his leadership. The Foundation wishes Waller good luck in his move just up the street to become an administrator of the Veritas School.
So far this year, the Foundation's Annual Fund Campaign has raised $390,509, which is 130% of the goal that was set for this year.
Overall current parent participation is 70%, and here is the parent participation by class:
• Seniors: 76%
• Juniors: 66%
• Sophomores: 69%
• Freshmen: 70%
