MINDFULNESS FOR STUDENTS

The MLWGS Mindfulness Committee has been working to bring mindfulness education and opportunities to faculty and students.  Mindfulness is the practice of bringing full attention to what’s happening in the present moment without judgment.  Among other benefits, it can be a powerful way to reduce stress and improve focus and productivity.

Students who are interested in participating in mindfulness activities at MLWGS should see Wendy DeGroat (wdegroat@gsgis.k12.va.us), Paige Hawkins (phawkins@gsgis.k12.va.us) or Karl Zweerink (kzweerink@gsgis.k12.va.us).  We are organizing mindfulness activities for the Spring semester.

In addition, The Cameron K. Gallagher Memorial Foundation is offering Mindful Mondays for GIRLS during the first Mondays of the month starting February 1, 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., in western Henrico County.   Email jodi@ckgfoundation.org for more details and registration information.
