SENIOR CLASS PHOTO

Seniors, did you forget to bring your $15 to purchase a copy of the senior group photo?  It's not too late!  See Ms. Sheppard in room 330 for an order form by Wednesday, May 4! (Please bring exact change or make checks payable to "Lifetouch.")

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENT REMINDER

Unfortunately, the Class of 2016 graduation announcements were delivered last week with an error indicating the wrong location for this year's commencement ceremony (Graduation is at Altria Theatre on June 17 at 3:00).  Herff Jones has assured MLWGS that the printer is responsible for this mistake, and they are quickly reprinting everything and expecting to have new announcements delivered in just a couple of weeks.  If you did not order announcements back in November, you can contact Ms. Sheppard (804-354-6800 ext. 3304/ksheppard@gsgis.k12.va.us).

ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS!

The May Senior Newsletter (the final edition for the year) is now available on the School Counseling Website (https://sites.google.com/a/gsgis.k12.va.us/mlw-school-counseling/2011-2012-newsletters). This newsletter contains college-related reminders and a listing of scholarships with approaching deadlines. This newsletter will distributed to students in their English classes this week, and they also received a copy via email. Scholarship information for seniors is also available on the School Counseling website (https://sites.google.com/a/gsgis.k12.va.us/mlw-school-counseling/college-admissions-information-1/scholarships-financial-aid) and in Naviance (https://connection.naviance.com/mlwgs).

Contact your child’s counselor if you would like to view the Naviance scholarship database and need your registration code. Scholarships are still being added to this database on a monthly basis, most with direct links to the applications. Hard-copy applications are scanned and attached to the scholarship description as a PDF. Please note that all deadlines posted on Naviance or in the Newsletter are subject to change as organizations are still sending us updated information for this school year. Check the organization’s website for the most current information and availability. Please contact Rachel Loving in the School Counseling Office with scholarship questions.
