Graduations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, end of the year teacher gifts, and summer travel are all reasons to think ahead and use Scrip gift cards to benefit MLWGS PTSA at no extra cost to you! It’s simple- purchase gift cards for the retailers you shop through United Scrip, and a percentage goes back to our school.

You will be amazed at how many of the retailers you shop could be benefitting MLWGS. Questions about the program? Please don’t hesitate to contact Laura Dysart, MLWGS Scrip coordinator and parent at lauradysart@verizon.net.

On Tuesday, June 4, from 11:10 a.m.- 12:10 p.m. all freshmen and sophomores will be attending “College Jump-Start 2019” in the auditorium at Maggie Walker. Freshmen and sophomore parents are invited to attend this event; however, parents must RSVP in advance. The presentation will also touch on topics that students will be thinking about down the road, such as the ACT/SAT, recommendation letters, essays, etc.

Today kicks off the Foundation Parent May Campaign! Throughout the month, parents who have not had a chance to contribute will be hearing from their class representatives asking them to support the Governor's School Foundation Annual Fund

We still need to raise more than $115,000 before June 30 in order to provide the same level of enhancements next year! These funds are essential in providing teacher professional development and continuing education, academic enhancements, upgraded technology, and assistance for students in financial need.

Every year parents from each class compete for the greatest percentage of participation. The competition is neck and neck. Help your child's class land on top! Current parent participation is as follows:

Senior parents (2019) 32%
Junior Parents (2020) 30%
Sophomore parents (2021) 30%
Freshman Parents (2022) 32%

We look forward to all that we can accomplish together for MLWGS!
